Shunsuke Sato recorded the complete Beethoven Violin Sonatas! Imported with Japanese commentary! Shunsuke Sato, a violinist living in the Netherlands, recorded all of Beethoven's violin sonatas with his wife, pianist Sue-Ann Chai! The two, who played the "Kreutzer Sonata" together when they first met, and whose works have occupied a special place in their repertoire ever since, push the limits of what is possible in this sublime sonata. Note the sound of Auguste Bernardel's 1846 violin with gut strings and Michael Rosenberger's early 19th-century fortepiano. In addition to detailed explanations of the pieces and profiles of the performers, the booklet includes an interview with the two performers in Japanese. Shunsuke Sato, based in the Netherlands, is a violinist as well as conductor, chamber musician, soloist, and teacher, and will serve as concertmaster of the Netherlands Bach Society from 2013 to 2023 and as music director from 2018.Since 2011, she has also established a close relationship with Concerto Cologne, and her performances backed by period technique have taken her around the world. Sue-Ann Chai, who plays a variety of pianos from historical to modern and is highly acclaimed as a soloist and chamber musician, is a well-known pianist in Japan, having appeared at La Folle Journée TOKYO and performed with her husband, Shunsuke Sato.
