Description:
Gabriel Feltz’s Mahler! With Symphonies No. 9 and No. 10, the complete set of 10 works is now complete! Gabriel Feltz, Germany’s rising star conductor. Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 with the Dortmund Philharmonic, currently at the top of their game! A SACD hybrid disc featuring high-quality recordings by TRITONUS! Also includes “Symphony No. 10 (Fragments),” recorded during his tenure with the Stuttgart Philharmonic (2010)! Kapellmeister at the Lübeck City Theater and the Bremen Theater; General Music Director of the Altenburg-Gera City Orchestra and Opera House; Chief Conductor of the Stuttgart Philharmonic; General Music Director of the City of Stuttgart; and Principal Guest Conductor of the Basel Opera—and since the 2013–14 season, he has served as General Music Director of the City of Dortmund and Chief Conductor of the Dortmund Philharmonic. Furthermore, since the 2017–18 season, he has also served as Chief Conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic in Serbia. Gabriel Feltz is a promising German maestro. Gabriel Feltz has built a strong relationship with the Dortmund Philharmonic, as evidenced by the extension of his contract through 2023. As the latest release in his Mahler symphony recordings—which can be considered the culmination of the work he has built up over 15 years since his time with the Stuttgart Philharmonic—his recording of “Symphony No. 9” with the Dortmund Philharmonic has finally been released. Furthermore, this release includes his 2010 recording of Mahler’s “Symphony No. 10” (featuring the two original fragments, the “Adagio” and “Purgatorio”) from his time with the Stuttgart Philharmonic, completing the set of all 10 symphonies from No. 1 to No. 10. It is said that recording all ten of Mahler’s symphonies marks a first among German conductors of his generation. Like the previous release, “Symphony No. 8” (CD21118), “Symphony No. 9” was recorded by the renowned production company “TRITONUS,” with Markus Highland serving as sound engineer. Tokyo M Plus
