Chitose Okashiro is a pianist, arranger, and producer who has attracted worldwide attention for his unique personality, colorful tone, firm expressiveness, and originality. Chitose Okashiro, who has recorded Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 5, Complete Practice Works, and "Poem of Eternal Law" (two-piano version), has arranged Scriabin's Symphony No. 5 "Prometheus, Poem of Fire" in a seven-piano version.This much-talked-about work, which was mentioned in an interview in the February 2021 issue of Record Geijutsu and attracted attention early on for its surprising ideas, is finally here! Chitose Okashiro has been working on the arrangement for 10 years since he took a break from his career as a pianist to work as an arranger for the publishing company Boosey & Hawkes, and it took him 4 years to complete the recording and production of this work, which is truly a work of his best efforts. The entire piece is not transcribed for seven pianos, but is basically composed for two pianos, sometimes three to five pianos, and sometimes up to six or seven pianos. The use of a large number of pianos is not for the purpose of playing many notes on top of each other or to create a loud sound, but only for the purpose of musical tone, and the overlapping of five to six pianos (with some exceptions) is also limited to slow, pianissimo, thin sound, rather than forte, intense, and loud sounding places. The recording is made with 7 pianos per piano. The recording was made with 7 microphones per piano, 7 x 7, for a total of 49 tracks overdubbed.Carl Talbot, well-known for his work on Charles Richard Amrand's albums, was in charge of mixing, and Andreas Meyer, former SONY engineer and renowned for his remastering of Glenn Gould's recordings, was in charge of mastering.
