Viola player with the Mandelring Quartet Andreas Vilvol! Andreas Vilvol served as principal violist of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra from 2001 to 2013, held professorships at the Nuremberg University of Music and the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, and has been an active member of the Mandelring Quartet since 2015. His long-awaited solo album is a collection of Brahms sonatas performed in collaboration with German pianist Daniel Heide, who is also a specialist in Lied accompaniment. Brahms is one of the composers Andreas Vilvol and Daniel Heide first performed together 22 years ago, and they have continued to explore his music together for many years since. Please enjoy this rich interpretation of Brahms, born from the combined technical skill and experience of Daniel Heide—who is deeply familiar with Brahms’s lieder—and Andreas Vilvol, who is well-versed in Brahms’s chamber music and orchestral works.
