Sorenne Paidashi, a French violinist who triumphantly won the 2010 Ron-Thibaud International Violin Competition (also receiving the Audience Award and other prizes— with Tatsuki Narita taking second place), French violinist Sorène Paidaschi instantly made a name for herself on the world stage. In September 2018, she was appointed concertmaster of the Belgian National Orchestra, one of the prestigious orchestras in the Benelux region, and Paidasi, who has been steadily building her career as an “orchestral player,” has now recorded the complete set of Bach’s “Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin”—the bible for violinists—in an effort to establish a landmark achievement as a “soloist”! Paidasi explains that a deep understanding of not only harmony and counterpoint but also dissonance, chromatic progressions, and the importance of rhythmic balance is crucial for performing Bach’s unaccompanied sonatas and partitas. A collection of diverse dance pieces for both the court and the common people, and a magnificent architectural structure built upon the fugue.
