And Bassanio, who sets off to ask for permission to marry Portia, also faces various hardships... This is the story of "The Merchant of Venice," a well-known story in Japan. Even if you do not know the detailed outline of the story, who does not know the ruling of Portia, dressed as a judge, to the corrupt moneylender Shylock: "You may cut off the flesh, but not the blood"? The film features an extremely fast-paced storyline set to lively music. The lively characters played by the performers make you feel emotionally involved with them.According to one theory, the title, "The Merchant of Venice," refers to Antonio, not Shylock, but it is unmistakably Shylock who sits on the package.
