Holten, who describes the opera as a story of mistakes, growth, and regret, portrays it as a recollection of Onegin and Tatyana. The past comes back to life even more vividly through the vividly colored scenes projected alongside the silent alter egos of the two. The sensitive and intimate character of the original opera, which Tchaikovsky entrusted to the students of the Moscow Conservatory for its premiere, is beautifully realized in this production. And with a superb cast of Keenlyside and Stoyanova, this is a wonderful production.The performances by Elena Maksimova as Oliga and Pavol Breslik as Lensky will also add to the show. Another highlight is the beautiful music that Robin Ticchiati spins to capture the folds of the heart. Admire Ticchiati's skill!
