The entire act of the Ashton version, restored for the first time in 40 years, starring D. Bussel, who retired in 2007, in this rare video! The Ashton version of "Sylvia" is often performed only in the pas de deux of the third act in gala performances nowadays. Originally based on a character from Greek mythology, this romantic ballet depicts the love between a human and a god. 2004 was the first time in 40 years that the ballet was restored and performed in its entirety, and Darcey Bussell's return to the full-length act after an 18-month absence was also a topic of conversation. In 2005, a DVD of the revival with the beautiful Roberto Bolle as Aminta, who is reminiscent of a Greek sculpture, is finally being released. Bussell was a very popular dancer in his home country, but sadly retired in 2007, making this DVD a rare find. She is not only beautiful, but her precise steps and technique to dance complex combinations of jumps and turns with a smile are outstanding.Bolle is one of the hottest dancers of the moment and has demonstrated high skill and stable support as a partner of Ferri, Zakharova, and others. ［Comment courtesy of TDK Core.]
