Born in São Paulo in 2005, violinist Guido Santana participated in the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition in 2018, where he won the Audience Prize and the Chamber Music Prize, and in 2022 became the first player from South America to win the Fritz Kreisler International Violin Competition. Currently, while studying at the Kronberg Academy, she performs with major orchestras in Brazil, Europe, Korea, and other countries around the world. In this album, she performs the violin concertos of Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky with Thierry Fischer, who will be the Music Director and Chief Conductor of the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra in 2020. Facing the royal repertoire, which is the most famous of all the masterpieces, he plays on a Jean-Baptiste Villaume violin made in 1874, supported by a taut, beautiful tone and rich sensibility.
