This is a collection of piano works by Russian pianist Anton Rubinshtein. As a composer, his magnificent symphonies reminiscent of Beethoven's have been popular among Russian music fans, but his piano works have not been performed very often except for a few works such as "Angel's Dream. However, the piano works have been re-evaluated in recent years, with NAXOS releasing recordings of several works performed by Joseph Banowetz. This album focuses on a series of works composed in the mid-1850s, performed by Sergio Gallo, a pianist who specializes in Liszt and Beethoven. The album includes "Impromptu, Op. 16 No. 1," with its impetuous motif at the beginning, "Two Pieces, Op. 28," with its contrasting nature of nocturne and caprice, and "Six Pieces, Op. 51," with its technical aspect.
