Composer Edward Gregson was born in England in 1945. He studied composition and piano with Alan Bush at the Royal Academy of Music, where he won five awards for composition. Since then, as a distinguished composer, he has received commissions from the BBC Philharmonic, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and the Halle Orchestra, as well as concertos for various prominent soloists, and many works for wind band and brass ensemble. 2016 In the 1970s and 1980s, many of his works were based on rather abstract concepts, but in recent years, especially in the 21st century, his expressive power has been refined and his emotional works have increased.
