Alexander Rahbali is a world-renowned conductor from Iran. He studied violin and composition at the Iranian National Conservatory of Music, and has also produced many works as a composer. Eight symphonic poems have been composed so far, all of which have an exotic style with skillful use of folkloric elements of "Persia," the predecessor of Iran, and are unique in their blend of traditional and improvisational styles. No. 1 is about "Nohe Khan," a tenor singer active in traditional Iranian ceremonies, whose voice is imitated on the violin as they sing in religious ceremonies, and is made into a brilliant concerto with orchestra. No. 2 is a short symphonic poem, and sings of a mother's grief over the loss of her child. No. 3 is a prayer landscape of innocent children.
