Franz Liszt was one of the most outstanding pianists of the 19th century. His series of superbly crafted piano pieces not only greatly influenced his contemporaries and later composers, but also captivated audiences (especially women) at his own concerts. One of the collections that symbolizes Liszt's excellent technique is the "Super-Exercises. As the title suggests, these are "exercises," but they are highly artistic, and it is said that even Liszt himself had difficulty in playing them perfectly. Liszt revised this collection many times, and the current edition of 1852 is considered the most complete and can be expected to be brilliantly played. In addition to this collection, Giltburg also performs the brilliant "Rigoletto Paraphrase" and the concert exercise "Lightness". Giltburg fully demonstrates his advanced technique and reproduces the music Liszt was looking for. As usual, the commentary is in Giltburg's own hand (in English). Naxos Japan
