Sauret, Emile (1852-1920)
Description:
Emile Sole is a violinist from France. He was renowned as a child prodigy from an early age, and performed spectacularly, sometimes with Franz Liszt. He was also active as an instructor, teaching young students at the Berlin Academy of New Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London, and eventually settled in London, where he also published many works as a composer. He composed several exercises to convey his great technique, the most difficult of which is the "24 Etudes Caprices," which are considered the most difficult and artistically excellent of them all. Each piece is nearly 10 minutes long, and is so highly accomplished that it could stand alone as a concert piece. As in the first and second collections, Naturyn Rashidova plays a Stradivari made in 1685, named after the composer "Sole," and its beautiful sound conveys the charm of the works to the fullest.
