Description:

Hélène Breg made headlines when she joined the Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg while a student at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris; she won first prize at the Kobe International Flute Competition in 2017, and in 2018 she became principal player of the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra, where further success is expected. This album was recorded immediately after the Kobe competition, and the chosen works are a collection of Jolivet's works. The 20 or so flute pieces by Jolivet, which make full use of the characteristics of the instrument, are very special to the players, and among them "Songs of Linos" and "Five Spells" are very popular. She plays these difficult pieces with aplomb, displaying superb technique and musicality. Naxos Japan
