Stanislaw Moneuszko, one of the leading Polish opera composers of the 19th century, bridging the gap between Chopin and Szymanowski, began piano lessons at age 4, studied at the Zing Academy in Berlin at age 18, returned to Poland after two years of study, married, and worked as a piano teacher in Vilnius and He was a piano teacher and conductor of a theater orchestra in Vilnius.
