Hearing Ippolitov-Ivanov's name, most people will recall the wild "March of the Chieftains". It is the fourth piece in the "Caucasian Landscape," which depicts the march of the Sardar (the supreme commander of the Ottoman Empire), and once you hear it, you will never get that exotic melody out of your head. This album contains both his First Symphony and his characteristic "Turkish" music. As you can tell by listening to the "Symphony No. 1," which has a certain Tchaikovskyian feel to it, his work under Rimsky-Korsakov originally started out sounding heavy and Russian, but his strong interest in Turkish folk music, which he studied during the latter part of his life, led him to create that "March of the Chiefs" and "Turkish Folk Music, His strong interest in Turkish folk music, which he studied during the latter half of his life, probably gave birth to unique music such as the "March of the Chieftains" and the "Turkish Farewell" and "Turkish March" included in this album. There is no doubt that this is a work that can be enjoyed without question in these areas.This will add another "heavy rotation song" for classical music lovers. Naxos Japan
