Based on Robert E. Howard’s “Conan the Hero” novel series, “Conan the Barbarian” (originally titled *Conan the Barbarian*) was released in 1982. It is a thrilling action blockbuster that makes the most of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s physical prowess. Director John Milius reportedly intended to incorporate elements of opera into the film, and composer Paul Douris (1945–2006) rose to the challenge, masterfully expressing strength, tenderness, and a full range of other emotions through the music. It is said that arranging this soundtrack—which uses an orchestra rather than computer software—for the organ presented considerable challenges. For example, the percussion section is used effectively to enhance the sense of power… While it certainly seems difficult to reproduce this on an organ, organist Per스터 made full use of the pedals and glissandos to create a flawless sound.
