Among contemporary Japanese composers, Toshio Hosokawa (1955-) is undoubtedly the most highly acclaimed composer worldwide. His works are extremely rich in Japanese elements (both in tone and thought), and his mastery and sincerity of language have allowed them to transcend language barriers and reach people all over the world. Each of the three pieces in this collection comes from a different source. Weaving a Dream" can be considered either a dream or a faint memory of when he himself was in his mother's womb. The sound heard in the womb, the eternal cradle, is "Henshiro-tones. He is embarking on a great journey, enveloped by this soft, all-encompassing sound. The theme of "Flowering" is a flower, which is his specialty. It is a reflection on the delicate and far-reaching task of converting the enormous energy required when a flower opens into the power of life. And "Circulating Ocean".This is a sonic reflection of the transformation of the appearance of water, and the phenomenon of "departing from the sea and returning to the sea again," which repeats itself forever, is depicted only in sound, without words.
