Description:
Ferguson was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and was a composer and cookbook author. Ferguson was a very precocious child. He came to England with Finzi and others, and under the tutelage of Vaughan Williams, he developed an English style. He actually worked on composition for a short time, from 1928 to 1959, and only 19 works, including vocal pieces, have been published. This album contains works from 1935 to 1944, including "Discoveries," a series of songs originally written for tenor, but loved by the famous alto singer Kathleen Ferrier. Naxos Japan
