Description:
Vivaldi's late opera "Bayazetto" was first performed in 1735 from a libretto by Heim's Tamerlano. Although the recitative survives in the autograph score, the lost arias need to be reconstructed. The work is in the form of a pasticcio (a mixture of quotations from existing works), which was common at the time, and incorporates popular arias by Giacomelli, Broschi, Hasse, and others. Conductor Federico Maria Sardelli has made corrections to the missing parts based on his research of the source material, and has created an edition based on the orchestration of the time. The orchestra led by Federico Maria Sardelli and the talented singers Dolcini and Prina bring Vivaldi's music to life with their lively performance. Naxos Japan
