Description:
Peter Boyer is a composer born in Rhode Island, USA in 1970. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island, his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, and studied with John Corigliano in New York City. His 2003 recording of the Grammy-nominated "Ellis Island - Dream of America" (8.559246) has been performed over 250 times around the world and has been broadcast on the U.S. Public Broadcasting Service (PBS ). This album contains eight of his latest compositions. Balance of Power" was commissioned by former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger for his 95th birthday. Fanfare for Tomorrow" is a brilliant piece written for the inauguration of President Joe Biden in 2021.Other tracks, such as "Rolling River," which has the expansiveness of music from a Hollywood movie, and "Radiance," which was composed for this album, all show Boyer's vivid orchestration, cool contemporary American sensibility, and good taste. The London Symphony Orchestra's brilliant performance of "Radiance" was a highlight of the evening. The brilliant performance by the London Symphony Orchestra enhances the charm of the music.
