Gregory Hutter is a composer based in the United States. Hutter's works, which are characterized by a wide variety of styles, have so far crossed over into all sorts of styles, including neoclassical, late romantic, atonal, avant-garde with twelve-tone, and jazz, and have fascinated listeners with their richly colored music. Hutter's choral works in this collection have a gentle sound that could be described as conservative, and the simple beauty of "Winter Song," in which the sound of handbells adorns the music, is particularly appealing to the ear. The final piece, "Tears," performed by an ensemble of female voices, is particularly impressive for its modern harmonies and clear sound. Naxos Japan
