On the other hand, “The Giant Room”—as the title “Fantasy” suggests—is a work in free form inspired by E.E. Cummings’s war novel, based on Diamond’s own experience of being imprisoned due to a misunderstanding. Here, a more raw and visceral expression takes center stage, and the surging waves of emotion repeated within a leisurely flow evoke a quiet sense of emotion.
