Italian composer Rossini composed 39 operas during his lifetime. He composed 39 operas during his lifetime, which were very popular, but he gave up writing operas after composing his last opera, "William Tell," at the age of 37. At the age of 44, he entered retirement in Bologna, where he lived a life of leisure, creating cuisine and managing restaurants until his death. However, he did not withdraw from composing, and every Saturday he gave a concert in his salon, where he performed his own compositions, mainly piano pieces. Rossini himself compiled a collection of these pieces called "The Mistakes of Aging" (also called "The Mischiefs of Aging"), which includes not only piano pieces but also various vocal and chamber music pieces, and is extremely varied in content.There are many innovative and humorous pieces, including serious and joking pieces, pieces with titles that are related to food such as "Romantic Minced Meat" and "Butter," pieces with words written directly on the score by a parrot, which requires the pianist to join in while playing, and pieces using a five-note scale invented by Rossini himself. There are many innovative and humorous pieces, such as the piece with a pentatonic scale invented by Rossini himself.
