Description:

Bach's masterpieces eloquently express his profound world This is one of Bach's greatest flute works, and can be called a "scripture" for flutists. The difficulty level is high, requiring not only a high level of technique but also a high level of spirituality. Shigenori Kudo, who succeeded J.P. Rampal and is highly regarded worldwide as a leading French flutist, recorded this work for the first time in 32 years with his friend Richard Siegel. The way he expresses Bach's profound world with rich shades of sound and fluidity is breathtaking. The music is deepened with Siegel, and the music is eloquent while freely handling even decorative elements, but without any exaggeration (and there are even moments when the music sounds more florid than on the old recording!) The music is more gorgeous than the old one, and there are even moments when it sounds more gorgeous! " [Shigenori Kudo] After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris with first prize, he won the 2nd Paris International Flute Competition at the young age of 23. 1980, he won the 1st J.P. Rampal International Flute Competition. His CD, "Dream Competition", which he performed with his former teacher Rampal, won the Japan Arts Festival Prize. He has received the Kyoto Art Festival Prize, the Muramatsu Prize, the Honorary Citizenship Prize of Obernais, France, and the Flaut Lifetime Achievement Award of Italy. He is currently a professor at Tokyo College of Music, a guest professor at Showa University of Music, and a professor at the Paris Ecole Normale, where he also teaches younger students.
