The first half of the album features a modern jazz/bi-pop album. The first half features a live performance at Carnegie Hall, where the leading figures of modern jazz = bebop performed together. The second half features a live performance of the Gillespie Band in Paris, a place far away from home, and is an important album from Roost's early years.
