Corbo’s signature natural flow of music, combined with the exquisite subtlety of the choir’s nuances and dynamics, exerts a powerful influence here as well, allowing Bach’s music to speak gently to the listener’s heart. Upon its initial release in Japan in 1978, it was highly praised by Ryosuke Hatanaka in *Record Art* magazine as “embodying the most contemporary interpretation of Bach’s spirit.” Recorded in Lausanne in 1977, at the height of the analog era, the sound remains beautiful to this day. Released in 2014 to commemorate the visit to Japan by Corbo and the Lausanne Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble, this reissue of the renowned ERATO recording features the original jacket design from its initial release. This is the first time this album has been released on CD with this original jacket design. When it was originally released on LP, it garnered attention for its exceptional sound quality. The booklet includes a total of 37 pages, including bilingual translations. This is a must-have collection for the ages.
