Two masterpieces accompanied by Furtwängler, Beethoven's "Emperor" and Mahler's "Song of the Wandering Young Man", are reissued on tape for the first time (2-track, 38 cm/19 cm, open-reel tape)! From the creator of "The Emperor" with Fischer and "Songs of a Wandering Young Man" with F. Dieskau, these are the rare session recordings of Furtwängler with the great soloists. We have already released LP reissues of both ("Emperor": GS-2008, 2005, ALP1051 / Mahler: GS-2015-6, 2006, ALP1270), but this is the first time we are reissuing them on tape. The "Emperor" is on 2-track, 38 cm open-reel tape, and the best possible sound quality was obtained. Mahler is on a 2-track, 19 cm tape, but the overall sound quality is no less than that of the "Emperor. (Naoya Hirabayashi) King International
