Walther and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra's live performance at Carnegie Hall = 3 superb Mozart pieces on high-quality UHQCD! This is the live recording at Carnegie Hall during Walter's peak period in New York. The program includes Mozart's top three favorite symphonies (No. 40, No. 35, and No. 39). The world premiere of No. 40 was recorded in 1950, and Nos. 35 and 39 were recorded in 1944 and 1945, respectively, and this is the first CD release in Japan. Although the sound quality has some scratch noise from the reissue, the broadcast recordings are full of charm with vivid and rich sound. The applause for all of the pieces is loud and vivid, and the atmosphere of Carnegie Hall can be enjoyed with a great sense of realism. Walter has added a strong, brilliant power and a deep, three-dimensional sense of structure to his usual romantic expression, and this is truly Mozart playing at its peak. The sound quality of the world premiere of No. 40 in G minor is excellent, and this is an incomparably valuable and masterful performance.However, the original master recording of No. 40 was missing about 3 seconds in the latter half of the 4th movement (3:29-31), so it was corrected with the CBS studio recording of the same piece (2/23/53).
