Description:

Latest Recording! The 53rd (2021) Suntory Music Award winner, Yoshimichi Hamada, is the leader of the ancient instrument group Antonello and the world's best recorder and cornet player, who is now at the peak of his maturity. The world's greatest recorder and cornet player, Yoshimichi Hamada, leader of the ancient instrument group Antonello, now in its mature phase, has made his latest recording of Van Eyck's "Paradise of the Flute," which has been called "the Old Testament of the Recorder. Jacob van Eyck (c. 1590-1657) was a Dutch composer whose "Paradise of the Flute," published between 1646-54, is one of the most important pieces of recorder music, consisting of about 150 pieces. Most of the pieces were unaccompanied, and many were based on popular songs, folk tunes, and dances of the time, making it an entertaining collection. Not only for the recorder student, but also as a piece to be enjoyed as an ornamental piece, the attractive melodies and skillful descriptions can be enjoyed. Although the pieces are often performed in recitals or on disc as a way to add color, in recent years there have been a number of virtuoso performers who have attempted to perform and record the complete works. Among them, Yoshimichi Hamada has begun recording the complete works. Although the recorder is a single-voiced instrument, Hamada's unique liveliness and freshness unfolds in a world of divine freedom. What has kept audiences glued to their seats in the past is now available on disc. Hamada's superb technique and expressiveness draws you into each piece, and he also uses several different recorders and cornet after careful study of the score. For some pieces, he also adds lute accompaniment, creating an elegant sound world.Renaissance music tends to give the impression of an academic world, but Hamada's music is filled with an energy and aura that brings back to life the enjoyment of the people of that time, and the scales fall from his eyes.
