Gegege no Kitaro" celebrated the 50th anniversary of its anime adaptation on January 3, 2018. Shigeru Mizuki's historical masterpiece, which is no exaggeration to say that there is no one in Japan who does not know it, will finally be animated for the sixth time. The cast is led by Miyuki Sawashiro as Gegege no Kitaro, with the legendary Masako Nozawa as Oyaji the Elder as Goku from the "Dragon Ball" series, Toshio Furukawa as Rat Man from the "Dragon Ball" series (Piccolo) and "One Piece" (Ace), and Mayumi Tanaka as Granny the Sandbag (Luffy) from "One Piece. The sixth "Gegege no Kitaro" anime project will start with a superb cast including Toshio Furukawa as Piccolo, Mayumi Tanaka as Luffy in "One Piece", and Mayumi Tanaka as Sandbag Granny! Masako Nozawa, who once played Kitaro in the 60's and 70's, will play the role of Oyaji, the father with the eyeballs! The production team is led by up-and-coming director Koji Ogawa (series director) and includes Kan Ohnoki (series composition), Sosho Shimizu (character design and chief animation director), and Koji Takanashi (music), all of whom are bursting with energy!
