CHUNYAN and SMY first met in 2020 during a session at the music label "CooktheVibe." After collaborating on backing vocals, they developed a deeper creative partnership following the release of "I Am Your Fan"—a song they co-wrote to bring to life the "memorable chorus" that CHUNYAN had envisioned. This EP, *Doomsday*, is the natural evolution of that collaboration. Comprising three tracks, this EP features songs with distinct emotional hues, yet as a whole, it creates a “sleepwalking space” crafted by the duo. While retaining intentional blank spaces and a raw texture, the sound embraces every fluctuation of emotion. The moment you press play, you’re detached from reality as if the curtain of night were falling, guiding the listener on an introspective journey before dawn. The “Last Day” depicted here is by no means the end of the world. It is another dimension of time that appears only after night has fallen. In the quiet darkness that envelops everything, tears, madness, and words that cannot be spoken during the day are all permitted. If an “apocalyptic reality” awaits upon waking—before that happens, we hope you will surrender yourself to the moment of “self-healing” this work offers.
