Accompanied by a string quintet featuring members of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, he unfolds a delicate, vibrant, and brilliant piano performance. During the closure of Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall (January 2021–October 2022), the “Yokohama 18 Wards Concert” series is being held, touring cultural facilities such as halls and civic centers in each ward of Yokohama to present concertos in chamber music arrangements. This CD features a live recording from that concert series, specifically the performance by Kotaro Fukuma and members of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra held on January 27, 2022, at Salvia Hall in the Tsurumi Ward Community Cultural Center. Soloist Kotaro Fukuma has released CDs spanning a wide range of genres and has frequently performed with renowned orchestras both in Japan and abroad, captivating countless fans to this day. Now, the long-awaited recording of “Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 1,” featuring a string quintet composed of talented members of the Japan Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, has been completed.
