TUBASSADORS
Description:
This is the second album by the TUBASSADORS, a permanent tuba quartet unit that is rare anywhere in the world. The ensemble, which is possible only because the four members have been working at a high density and are backed by outstanding technique, radiates an intense musical appeal that goes beyond the surprise of "How can a tuba even do this? In addition to the masterful arrangements of "Rhapsody in Blue" and "Sing Sing Sing" by four tubas, the album includes commissioned works by five Japanese composers. The album also includes a performance with drums and piano, expanding the tuba's possibilities in this ambitious work. The members themselves have handled everything from the mixing of the sound sources to the jacket design. <TUBASSADORS is an ensemble unit consisting of four professional tuba players with various backgrounds, and has a YouTube channel that was established in 2020, where they have released many performance videos in a wide range of genres from tuba pieces to anime songs. The channel boasts the highest number of subscribers and views in the industry. The members plan, arrange, shoot, edit, and design their own music, and update their channel weekly with their belief in not only performing but also being creative and humorous. In the summer of 2023, the ensemble toured five major cities in Japan, attracting more than 900 people in total, including additional performances. In 2023, the ensemble received an Honorable Mention in the "Tuba Plus" performance video contest sponsored by the International Tuba and Euphonium Association (ITEA). He has also released more than 10 original compositions, and has been putting his efforts into creative activities to pursue the possibilities of the tuba. In the summer of 2024, he will be on his first tour with a total of over 1,250 people in 10 locations throughout Japan, and in the spring of 2025, he will perform at the MUZA Lunchtime Concert (at MUZA Kawasaki Symphony Hall). He also publishes original scores and arrangements in cooperation with Mouton Library. He aims for high performance both on the Internet and in the live scene, and is energetically active as an "Ambassador of the Tuba" transcending musical genres and borders.
