In 1966, Simon & Garfunkel recorded their next album, "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Time," after their hit "The Sound of Silence," which ushered in the folk-rock boom. Sage Rosemary & Thyme". That album, which would become a classic for posterity, was based on the folk spirit of "Scarborough Fair" and "The 7 O'Clock News/Kiyoshi-Kono Yoru," including criticism of the Vietnam War that was plaguing the U.S., and the beautiful "Emily Emily/" with Paul Simon's 12-string guitar and Art Garfunkel's vocals. For Emily, Whenever I May Find Him" and other songs, this is a musically rich album. This CD contains a large number of exclusive takes from the recording sessions. First is the "Emily Emily" session at Columbia Studios on August 22, 1966.There are a total of 12 takes left, including a performance halfway through, and you can hear the process of first trying to record the two of them playing alone, then recording just the guitar first, and then layering Art's vocals on top of it, in sequence. The sound is very clear before the double-tracking of Art's vocals. Paul's 12-string guitar also comes through with a vivid sound image without any sound effects. In addition, a working tape mixes the news audio to the "7:00 News/Kiyoshi-Kono Yoru; original title = Silent Night" with beautiful harmonies between the two. This mix is totally different from the official version. And two versions of "You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies" from the 1967 session for the album "Bookends," which will be released in 1968 and is the B-side of the single "Fakin' It. More than half a century has already passed since the S&G season.And to my former friends who have drifted apart between ideals and reality. Their innocent music is still here, still shining. This is a collection of rare session recordings of the eternal folk duo, Simon & Garfunkel from 1966 and 1967. 8 pages of liner notes in Japanese, describing the situation of the time, episodes, song titles, etc. From the "ROCK OFF" series by Eternal Grooves!
