Brian Jones (Rock)
Description:
Brian Jones, a compilation of masterpieces is now available! All are different versions and rare takes of classic songs that cannot be heard on the official recordings. 7 songs are completely unreleased and 16 songs are on CD for the first time. Brian Jones...he is the Rollin' Stones...he showed intense musicianship in the 60's, leading Mick and Keith to form the Rolling Stones. His black slide guitar and blues harp were as black as a black bluesman, and he was the best in the London music scene at that time. A wanderer, a father of four bastards at the age of 20, a genius with his pop looks and IQ of 135 who can master any instrument in a few days. The true enfants terribles - the terrible children - is Brian Jones himself. This album is a thorough compilation of the great performances that Brian Jones has left in this world with the Stones and other artists. The album contains 25 tracks in chronological order, all of which are rare takes that cannot be heard on the official version. On the IBC demo and "Come On" before his debut, he did not play guitar but concentrated on blues harp. As Little Walter (harp) is next to Muddy Waters, he already reigned in the Stones as a bluesman from his debut. You can hear such strong harp in "Money" and "Let's Fall in Love" on BBC. Not Fade Away" is an early version of "Not Fade Away" before he developed the two harp technique. Peter & Gordon's "A Mess Of Blues" is a great performance with harp echoing throughout. Keith and Brian's brilliant twin guitars, playing high and low, are a must for "Bright Lights, Big City" and "Hi-Heel Sneakers," especially "The Nineteenth Nervous Breakdown," which is not officially available, but a clear, separated stereo mix and another take. This is a treasure of a sound source.Don't forget, the powerful slide guitar explodes on "Down In The Bottom" recorded at the dream Chess Studio in 1964, and "I Can't Be Satisfied" on BBC is as good as M. Waters' performance! Brian, who actually sang more choruses than Keith in the early days, also sings "Fortune Teller (studio version!)" and "Poison Ivy" without guitars, as well as the previously unreleased "It Should Be You" from Jagger & Richards' early composition demos. I've Been Loving You Too Long", which was recorded live as a pseudo-live version on the live album "Got Live~", is now available for the first time on CD in a miraculous studio version! Rare "Tell Me" mis-shipment take, "Kellogg's Rice Krispies" said to have been written by Brian, and the theme song from the 1967 movie "A Degree Of Murder" with Jimmy Page are also included on this CD! This compilation offers a variety of Brian's masterpieces, including another version of a mid-period classic with brilliant sitar and dulcimer, "Ruby Tuesday" with beautiful recorder, and "Under My Thumb" with marimba. Includes detailed commentary on all songs, Japanese liner notes, and 8,800 characters. Jacket with licensed photo by Getty Images Japan.
