A deep and rich musical world passed down through the prestigious Griot lineage. Her mature voice quietly bridges the past and present of Malian music. This album, *Tarbolo Kula*, is her latest work, created in collaboration with guitarist and arranger Thierry Fournel, with whom she has worked for over 20 years. The simple, intimate ensemble—featuring guitar, djerin’goni, accordion, kalabash, and gembri—is carefully crafted to highlight M’Damba’s voice itself, avoiding excessive ornamentation. Mixing was handled by Jean Lamoot, known for his work on Salif Keita’s *Moffou*. A warm, deep sound envelops the entire album. (C)RS
