Earl Hooker

Description:

Earl Hooker (1929-1970), a Mississippi-born "musician's musician," was the leader of Chicago blues in its heyday, and was admired for his guitar skills by B.B. King and other great bluesmen, and even Buddy Guy was jealous of his guitar skills. Earl Hooker (1929-1970), a Mississippi-born who was the envy of Buddy Guy, was not only a guitarist who wowed the blues masters and won their trust as a studio musician, but also a flamboyant and powerful voice, unique costumes, and acrobatic performances that included using his teeth, feet, or playing the guitar behind his neck or between his legs. He has also made a name for himself as a flamboyant showman with his unique costumes and acrobatic performances that involve using his teeth and feet or playing the guitar between his legs or behind his neck. Earl Hooker's masterpiece album for Arhoolie Records, "Two Bugs and a Roach," will be introduced this time. This album contains selected recordings from the 1968/69 recording sessions for Arhoolie Records, as well as four songs from his early career recorded between 1952 and 1953. (C)RS
