Siviont-Kievich and Arte dei Suonatori, who made a sensation with their 2024 release of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s *Hamburg Symphonies* (BISSA2459)—often hailed as the pinnacle of the sensibility style—have now recorded the *Berlin Symphonies*, a collection of six works composed between 1755 and 1758, preceding his Hamburg period. The most notable aspect of this performance is the decision to omit the wind parts added later, opting instead for the original draft consisting solely of strings and harpsichord continuo. This is the world’s first CD to feature all six movements in this form. The lean sound produced by this minimal ensemble highlights the equal dialogue between the musicians and vividly brings to light the chamber-music-like precision inherent in the works. C.P.E.
