Description:
[Ilesz, Kopatchinskaja, and Altstedt, a collection of works that resonate with the avant-garde spirit of all three] This album delves into the recent works of Hungarian composer Marton Ilesz (Márton Ilesz). In an attempt to translate communication through the human psyche and physical processes into a fundamental sound free from the tradition of scales and harmony, some titles are based on Hungarian words with the composer's own interpretation and coined words. The violin concerto Vont-ter (Vibrating Gestures in Space), composed for Kopatchinskaja in 2020, is a series of extremely abstract and highly demanding demands, in which the traditional sweet and rich string sounds are rarely heard. Rajzok I (Intensity of Stare), written for string ensemble, is an experimental work using "total scordatura," in which all 24 string instruments are tuned to different quarter tones. The cello concerto "Sirt-ter" (a term coined to describe a place filled with tears) is intended to bring out the vocal qualities that convey human pain by making the cello "groan, scream, or howl hysterically" rather than sing beautifully.Three Sketches (skEtch) for violin and live electronics is an attempt to augment the capabilities of acoustic instruments through the use of live electronics under the theme of "electronics in the service of the organic. This ambitious spirit of experimentation resonates with the sensibilities of Kopatchinskaja and Altstedt to create a one-of-a-kind world of work. Naxos Japan
