Description:

Mozart's most exciting works in France! Amihai Gross also appears in the concerto symphony] The Concert de la Loge, an ancient instrumental ensemble at the forefront of French music, has released the latest volume in its series focusing on Mozart's large-scale orchestral works. After recording Mozart's last symphony, No. 41 "Jupiter" (ALPHA776) and No. 40 in minor (ALPHA875/NYCX-10342), this time the orchestra will focus on No. 39 in E-flat major, the first of the composer's three late symphonies, with a recording of the same work in his native Salzburg. This time, the E-flat major Concerto Symphony, also in E-flat major, was composed in his hometown Salzburg, Austria, opposite No. 39, the first of his three late symphonies. The overture to the masterpiece "Cosi fan tutte," which was unbelievably unpopular at the time of its composition, is included at the beginning in a vivid and exhilarating performance with slow and fast control. The interpretation of Symphony No. 39, which is described as "Symphony of the Dawn" in the commentary, is a delight to listen to as it explores the finer points of the piece. The concerto symphony with viola soloist Amihai Gross, principal viola of the Berlin Philharmonic, is a delight to listen to, as if the soloists were talking to each other with the orchestra. The orchestra is full of virtuosos, including A. Tryunchuk on oboe, who plays with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Café Zimmermann, and F. Roth on horn, who is also a member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain. Chauvin also brilliantly crossed swords with Gross as a soloist, and his conducting based on the 18th century music style accurately realized a performance full of vivid musicality. The depth and freshness of the ancient instrumental performance can be appreciated in this latest recording. Naxos Japan
