A collection of duets for viola and cello by two 18th and 19th century composers, Kayetan Wutky and John Henry Griesbach. Wutky was born in Austria. He received a musical education from childhood and served at the court of the nobility as a horn player. He is especially known for his work at the court of Pressburg (now Bratislava). Griesbach grew up in a musical family in Germany and followed his family to England in 1780. He studied composition with Carl Friedrich Abel, and in 1783, he was patronized by Queen Charlotte, who was an active composer. Their works have been buried for a long time, but this album will give you a fascinating glimpse of their works. Naxos Japan
