Cindy Castillo, one of the most promising virtuoso organists in Belgium, where there are few excellent organists who can handle a wide range of fields from ancient to contemporary music, reads the microcosm of "Musical Offering," an important work from Bach's last years, on a German Baroque organ by one of the most important contemporary workshops. The majority of the recorded music is polyphonic music with no specified instruments, but at the time of the recording of the entire work, the ensemble included flutes, violins, and bass instruments, which were the great king's forte. In most cases, the ensemble is made up of flutes, violins, bass instruments, and other instruments. While recordings of the complete works by pianists such as Lifshitz (ORFEO/C676071) and Barlami (DECCA) have appeared from time to time, performances with solo organ, which was the composer's specialty, have been rare in recent years.Castillo is playing a church instrument from Namur, newly completed in 2023, which was built by Dominique Thoma, a workshop highly respected by world-famous musicians, based on the characteristics of central and northern Germany in the late Baroque period. The sound is not only extremely beautiful, but also persuasive, as if Bach himself had heard it in his own mind.
