Description:
The title "Magpie Magpie" is a term for "magpie, someone who wants to collect everything. Kevin Raftery's album includes "Meditation in Brown," inspired by the art of Leonardo da Vinci; "Harpsichord Quintet," composed during a pandemic; "Two Tributes," expressing the loss of a loved one; and "Naked Before God," which was born out of personal despair. As the album title suggests, the album contains a wide variety of music reflecting his own experiences and family history. Originally from the United States, Raftery has been performing in London since 1989. He currently sings in the New London Chamber Choir, plays bassoon in the ensemble, and is the music director of the Richmond Concert Society.
