Princess Elisabeth of Lichtenberg has come to the Alps to escape her aunt's marriage proposal. There she naturally falls in love with Georg, a young man who has also come to the Alps to reject his father's marriage proposal, and they spend time together in a mountain lodge in bad weather. When Elisabeth returns to earth, she confesses to her aunt that she has found the man of her dreams, but in fact, Georg is the man she is going to marry. The two realize that "the world is beautiful. Franz Lehar wrote many operettas, including "The Merry Widow. In his later years, he shifted his style, and unlike his earlier works, more of his operettas had bittersweet and sad endings, but this "The World is Beautiful" from 1930 ends with a clear happy ending.
