SOLO ALONE AND MORE is the first album to introduce young clarinetist Jonas Flonte, who studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and graduated from the Paris Conservatory. In creating the album, he has tried to give the listener a variety of tones by using a variety of clarinets...not only the common B-flat and A clarinets, but also the A basset clarinet and the B-flat bass clarinet. The program includes a melody from Wagner's "Tristan und Isolde," which he considers "the origin of all modern music," Stravinsky's "Three Pieces," Steen-Anathen's "From the Deep End," which requires the soloist to play percussion, and Methe Nilsson's " Alone" by Mette Nilsson, written for Flonte, is also included.
