Colombian-born cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia presents a solo album of unaccompanied works from his native country. Born in 1995, Cañón-Valencia won third prize at the 2017 Queen Elisabeth International Competition, second prize and audience prize at the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Competition, and was named the BBC Next Generation Artist in 2022. In 2022, she was selected as a BBC Next Generation Artist, and has performed with orchestras, chamber music, and recitals in her home country as well as in Germany and the United States.
