Many firsts and rare recordings! The Bell Telephone Hour Collection 3 is a collection of his own compositions and arrangements. It featured stars of classical, jazz, and pop music, and its listenership reached 8 to 9 million people. Kreisler also appeared on the program from 1944 to 1950, but only a few of his performances were ever recorded and never released to the public. Biddulph has reissued Kreisler's performance at the Bell Telephone Hour on three CDs, based on "material in the best possible condition from private collections. In 1941, Kreisler was in a car accident in New York City, and for a time it was feared that he would never return to the stage, but he made a comeback in 1943, which was called "a miraculous comeback. The Bell Telephone Hour recordings are a valuable recordings of Kreisler from the period immediately after his "miraculous comeback" to his retirement in 1950. The third and final collection includes Kreisler's own works and arrangements. Kreisler was adept at writing in the style of Baroque music. Tracks 3-6 give us a glimpse of this style. As a native of Vienna, Kreisler was adept at writing and playing works that conveyed the elegant Viennese sentiment. This is evident throughout the album. The last three pieces were composed and arranged with exotic imagery.The songs have Chinese, Spanish, and Scottish overtones, and his singing style is full of his own unique charm. Kreisler's own recording of "Malagueña" has never been made, and his orchestrations of the other pieces are rare. The other pieces in Kreisler's orchestration are also rare.
