This album features British chamber music works from the 19th to 21st centuries. Featuring some of England's leading soloists as guests, Finzi's "Eclogue" and other masterpieces are performed by the London Chamber Ensemble, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2022. The album also includes Clive Jenkins' "Concertino," dedicated to Margaret Fingerhut, three pieces for oboe specially arranged by Jenkins for this recital, the recently departed Joseph Horowitz's "Concertante for Clarinet and Strings The concert also includes world premiere recordings of nine pieces, including "Concertante" for clarinet and strings by the recently departed Josef Horowitz, and "Frensham Pond" from "Impressions of the Fatherland" by William Lloyd Webber, the father of Androux, well-known for his musicals such as "Phantom of the Opera," and cellist Julien, also an acclaimed organist. The London Chamber Ensemble was founded in 1997 by violinist Peter Fischer. Comprised of carefully selected players from London's major orchestras and chamber groups, the ensemble has performed extensively and is highly acclaimed, and actively performs new works. Naxos Japan
